Storage: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is Self-Storage and How Does it Work?

603 Storage provides a variety of storage unit sizes and types available to the public for personal, business, and recreational storage use. If you're looking to clear up some much needed space at home or finding yourself with limited to no space to hold much needed business items, 603 Storage is for you.  We offer clean, secure storage solutions at competitive prices.

What Size Unit Can I Rent?

If the storage size you need is available at one of our facilities and you can provide a valid I.D. and payment method, you can rent it.  If you have questions regarding which size is right for you, please review our storage unit size guide to find exactly the storage space you need.  If you have any additional questions regarding unit sizes, storage types, or prices, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Ok I Can Rent, But Who Else Has Access to my Storage Unit?

The unit you rent is secured with your lock and your key - only you can decide who has access to your unit and who doesn't.  It's our policy to never give anyone who isn't on your rental agreement access.  We feel this only adds to the security of your items.  However, it's your decision if you want to divulge your unit number and key to anyone of your choosing - as long as you're comfortable with them accessing your unit.  We cannot be held accountable if you chose to give someone else access to your unit.

Will My Rate Increase?

At 603 Storage, we do not believe in constantly raising your rate! We offer a 12 month rate lock on most rentals. Some restrictions do apply. For instance, if you reserved a unit through a third party company that charges us fees (i.e. Sparefoot), or initally rented at a discounted rate, or are late with your payments more than one time,  your rate may increase before the 12 months.

Drive-Up Storage, Climate Control etc. What's The Difference? All of our facilities offer unique storage sizes and types.  Common unit types include:

  • Climate Controlled Units: This type of storage is perfect for items sensitive to fluctuating temperatures.  These units never dip lower than 55 degrees or higher than 90 degrees Fahrenheit.  While slightly more expensive than drive-up units, the few dollars you spend in extra rent could save you thousands of dollars in damage down the road.  Common items susceptible to hot and cold weather include: wooden furniture, books and comics, electronics, antiques, vintage drum kits and other older, valuable instruments, artwork, wine, and other items. If you're unsure about the type of storage you need, call us.
  • Drive-Up Storage Units:  Drive-up storage is perfect for those looking for quick, easy access to their items.  Drive straight up to your unit, park, unload.   While this is often the most convenient method of storage, it offers slightly less protection from the elements than climate controlled storage.  However, Drive-Up is easily the most popular form of storage, mostly for it's quick access and nonetheless great protection from water, pests, dirt, and other unwanted nuisances.  Just because it doesn't have the level of temperature control offered by other storage types doesn't mean it's any less secure, clean, and reliable.

How Long Can I Rent a Unit?

Rent your unit for as long (or short) as you need!  We offer month-to-month leases and bill in one-month increments.  Our goal is to make your storage experience as simple and easy as possible.

Can I Rent a Unit Over The Phone or Online?

Yes you can! Many other facilities require you to show up on their schedule, fill out alot of paperwork right in the middle of a move, and generally waste your time - we don't do that. We have a seemless one-call-does-it-all move-in system that makes it easier and faster. We can even rent you a unit via text message or email!

Are My Items Insured While Being Stored At Your Facility?

Renting a storage unit is similar to renting an apartment.  The same way your landlord doesn't insure your personal belongings, we don't insure your items either.  However, we do offer an excellent and affordable Property Protection program that you can purchase through us. Please note: if you have homeowner's or renter's insurance, your property may be covered, but you should double check with your agent.

What do I do if  my unit is frozen in the winter?

Living in NH, this can happen occasionally. Please do not chip around the door as this may result in damage to the unit. Never use a heat source on the unit. Please call us and we will assist you.

What Forms of Payment do You Accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Debit Card. We also accept payments online once you are a tenant.   We also offer Automatic billing  which most of our customers prefer!

Account FAQs

Can I Pay Over the Phone With a Credit Card?

Yes, OR, you can pay online

When is my Payment Due?

Drive-up Storage is generally due on the first of each month.

I'm Ready to Move Out of my Unit - Do You Require Notice?

It would be nice! But, as long as you notify us before your billing date, it's not required. However, if you move out and do not notify us, you may be billed on your billing date until you do notify us. Please sweep out the unit and be sure all of your belongings are removed or charges will continue. Also, please remove all locks from the unit as this will confirm that the unit is indeed vacant and ready for a new tentant. Thank you for your cooperation.

I Can't Find the Key to my Unit - What Can I do?

We can cut the lock for you for a fee. With reasons we hope you can understand, we do not allow bolt cutters on the property.  Please keep in mind, if you do try to cut your own luck, you may damage the slide-bolt and door, both of which you will be liable for.

Do You Pro-Rate My Final Month?

As a general rule, we do not offer pro-rated billing.  However, rare exceptions can be made if you need your unit for an extra day or two and you have made arrangements in advance with us.  If you have any questions regarding your unit and rental agreement, please don't hesitate to contact us.  We strive to achieve the best customer experience possible.  One way we can achieve this is by having an open dialogue!
